Growing up in a farming community in Livingston Parish my parents instilled in me strong values that have shaped my life. Long ago, I made a promise. That promise was to never forget my roots, to remain loyal in helping others, and to always support my fellow neighbor and community.
In the 60’s, I married my late husband. At that time, we lived in the quaint town of French Settlement and raised our three children. It was there that I started my first career in selling Home Interiors and Gifts. I was intrigued by the idea of helping people to make their houses feel like a home. This job was not only a turning point in my life, but reaffirmed my connection with people and how I could make a difference.
Soon after, we moved to Ascension Parish. After a decade of running a local restaurant in the early 80’s, my roots here in Ascension Parish began to flourish. Once again, I channeled my work ethics and love of people to a career in real estate which proved to be a rewarding experience. To date, my once promise; has turned in to my life-long philosophy. It’s quite simple, “Treat others the way you would like to be treated.”
Throughout the years, I have done many things to service my community. I currently serve on the Board of the Ascension Chamber of Commerce, Ascension Council of Realtors, and the Women’s Advisory Board for St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. However, of all my accomplishments, my family is the most meaningful.

Hi, my name is Darla Villar Bruno. I was born and raised in Lake, Louisiana. I attended St. Amant High School and Southeastern University.

Working in our family restaurant at the young age of 14 has given me the wonderful opportunity of meeting great people and has helped me develop lasting relationships and also to perfect my “people” skills. I have three wonderful children and a beautiful granddaughter.

After leaving the restaurant, I started my real estate career with my mother and broker, Donna Villar in the fall of 2000. After four years, Mom decided to start a new family venture, Villar and Company Real Estate. Our company has been growing since 2004. We strive in giving great personal service and being knowledgeable in our field.

Being a lifelong resident of Ascension Parish, I am certain that I can help in all of your real estate needs.
